About Plant Health Aust
Plant Health Australia (PHA) is the premier national coordinator of the government-industry partnership for plant biosecurity in Australia. Established in 2000 as a nonprofit company, PHA's mission is to minimize pest impacts on Australia, enhance market access, and contribute to industry and community sustainability. PHA offers a wide range of services to achieve its goals.
They lead the development of tools, information, and networks to reduce the threat and potential impact of emergency plant pests. They also provide training programs, online courses, and simulation exercises to enhance biosecurity knowledge and skills. PHA actively collaborates with government and industry stakeholders to safeguard the livelihoods of producers, support the future of plant industries, and preserve Australia's environmental health and amenity.
Backed by a team of specialist staff and a skills-based Board, PHA has successfully brokered agreements that have resulted in Australia's enviable pest-free status. With a national office in Canberra, PHA is dedicated to maintaining Australia's high plant health status and assisting in the trade of Australian produce
