Planting Justice is a grassroots organization dedicated to democratizing access to affordable and nutritious food in the Bay Area. With a mission to empower urban residents, they provide the skills, resources, and knowledge needed to maximize organic food production, expand job opportunities, and ensure environmental sustainability. As part of their efforts, Planting Justice operates a nursery that offers a wide selection of certified organically grown perennial fruiting plants.

Originally started by Marc Robbi and Corrina Cohen, the nursery was acquired by Planting Justice in 2015. The nursery is committed to Marc and Corrina's vision of providing a diverse collection of plants to farmers and backyard gardeners. In addition to propagating and selling plants, Planting Justice utilizes their 5-acre food forest farm in El Sobrante as their mother farm for Rolling River Nursery.

By creating dignified living-wage jobs for formerly incarcerated individuals and focusing on food and economic justice, Planting Justice strives to transform communities from dependent consumers to empowered producers
