PlantwisePlus is an innovative global initiative led by CABI, aimed at empowering smallholder farmers in low- and lower-middle-income countries to enhance their incomes and ensure food security through sustainable agricultural practices. The program aspires to reach 75 million farmers, equipping them with crucial knowledge on managing pests and implementing climate-resilient farming techniques. PlantwisePlus focuses on three critical pathways: Pest Preparedness, Pesticide Risk Reduction, and Farmer Advisory services, all designed to tackle the myriad challenges faced by farmers today.

Through a gender-sensitive approach, PlantwisePlus supports farmers in predicting and responding to plant health threats, reducing crop losses, and producing safer food. The program advocates for sustainable solutions, including integrated pest management and biological controls, while fostering agricultural opportunities for women and youth. By collaborating with various stakeholders, PlantwisePlus not only contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals but also strengthens in-country capacities to address plant health issues effectively.
