Brand: Plastmilliarden
Plastmilliarden is a campaign advocating for a fair solution where producers of plastic packaging take responsibility for their products. Each year, Norwegian municipalities and citizens foot a bill of over one billion Norwegian kroner that should rightfully be paid by the plastic producers. The existing producer responsibility system in Norway is riddled with loopholes, leaving municipalities to bear the brunt of waste management costs.
Plastmilliarden aims to shift the burden back to the plastic sinners by urging policymakers to enforce a stricter and more transparent producer responsibility scheme. By holding producers accountable for the full lifecycle of their products, from production to disposal, Plastmilliarden seeks to incentivize eco-friendly practices and promote a circular economy.
