PlatRefugio

PlatRefugio is a platform bringing together organizations committed to defending the rights of refugees and people seeking international protection in Spain. Its work focuses on the country’s asylum and reception system, advocating for practices that comply with international law and respect, protect, and fulfil the rights of those seeking safety. The platform explains the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), a United Nations process, and uses this framework to call for changes to Spain’s policies and practices.

PlatRefugio asks the Spanish State to adopt an asylum and reception system aligned with international standards. It also invites the public to sign a petition urging the Government and political parties to accept UN recommendations on asylum. Visitors can learn about the organizations involved, explore the platform’s proposals, and download a report on human rights in Spain’s international protection and reception system.
