Platypus Press

Platypus Press, an independent publishing brand, has made the difficult decision to cease trading in May 2023. With the ever-changing nature of our lives and the significant physical and emotional demands that come with running an independent press, this action has become necessary. Over the span of eight years, our small team of two has passionately edited, designed, and published an impressive collection of work.

We take immense pride in the thirty-nine books, thirty-three digital shorts, and twenty-four digital chapbooks we have released, as well as the thirty issues of our online literary journal, Wildness. The caliber of the writers we have collaborated with speaks to the excellence of the work we have published. We extend our gratitude to every writer who has entrusted us with their work.

Until May 1st, you can find our remaining book copies at heavily discounted prices. Afterward, the rights to these books will return to the authors. If any publishers wish to acquire these rights or UK-based organizations like libraries or community groups are interested in our remaining titles, please reach out to us.

We plan to continue publishing issues of Wildness, although likely at a reduced frequency. © 2023 Platypus Press. All Rights Reserved.
