Playin' Hooky Charters

Playin’ Hooky Charters offers Lake Michigan fishing trips departing from Waukegan Harbor, serving Waukegan, Chicago, and nearby suburbs. Led by Captain John Wagner, the charter specializes in salmon and trout fishing, with opportunities to target Coho and King Salmon, Steelhead, and Rainbow Trout. Captain Wagner has more than 30 years of Lake Michigan fishing experience and is licensed by the U.

S. Coast Guard and the state of Illinois. The company welcomes groups seeking a full day or afternoon on the water, including families, friends, and visitors looking for a lake view of Chicago.

Trips take place aboard the 33-foot Pacemaker sport fishing boat, and fishing equipment and safety gear are provided. Onboard features include a private washroom, marine radio, radar, satellite navigation, fish locator, temperature gauges, and downriggers. Playin’ Hooky Charters also notes that multiple boats may be available for larger groups.

Guests should bring a valid fishing license and salmon stamp, suitable clothing, food and drinks, and other personal essentials. To book a trip, call 847-313-9678
