Pleunie Buyink is an artist and designer whose practice explores colour, light and material through distinctive, handcrafted artworks. After graduating from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2014, she developed Limber Gem, a layered, iridescent composite that changes in appearance with light and movement. Each piece is made with up to fifteen layers of pure pigment, giving the surface individual depth, tone and character.
Buyink offers a collection of original works alongside bespoke commissions for private clients, interior designers, architects and residential, hospitality and commercial projects. Working collaboratively, she creates artworks shaped by the architecture and atmosphere of each setting while maintaining a clear artistic identity. Her work spans intimate framed pieces, sculptural objects and large-scale installations. Selected projects include a solo exhibition at the Noordbrabants Museum and custom artworks for several cruise ships.
Through her studio, Buyink also presents exhibitions, publications and collaborations, with work associated with names including Eric Kuster, Menno Kroon, Piet Boon Studio and LIV.
