About Plymouth Energy Community
Plymouth Energy Community (PEC) is a charitable organisation and social enterprise working to create a fair, affordable, zero-carbon energy system with local people at its heart. Founded in 2013, it helps people across Plymouth access greener, more affordable energy and has supported more than 37,000 households with energy advice or efficiency measures. Guided by a cooperative ethos, PEC works alongside its community-owned renewables organisation, PEC Renewables, as part of a wider family of organisations focused on local benefit.
PEC provides impartial help for people concerned about energy bills, cold homes or heating that is difficult to control. Its Future Fit programme offers home-upgrade support, including retrofit advice and help to find out whether households qualify for grants. The organisation also works with schools, businesses and community groups to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions. Through renewable energy projects, home improvements and community engagement, PEC promotes local climate action and helps residents stay warm while saving money.
