PMAC

The Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC) is an international gathering focused on global health and the policies and partnerships needed to improve people’s lives. Its 2022 conference, themed “The World We Want: Actions Towards a Sustainable, Fairer and Healthier Society,” examined how societies can respond to major challenges, including COVID-19, climate change, environmental pressures and growing inequality.

PMAC 2022 brought together speakers, public health leaders, researchers and award laureates for a programme of plenary events, conversations and themed sessions. Topics included 21st-century megatrends, progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals, greener development, the future of health systems, pandemic management and community preparedness. The conference also featured messages from international leaders, video presentations, honorary lectures and discussions with Prince Mahidol Award laureates.

Alongside its main programme, PMAC offered a virtual field trip focused on sustainable, fair and healthy society, and highlighted youth perspectives on climate and health. Its related publications and collections included commissioned articles and special journal content, extending the conference’s discussions to a wider audience.
