About Promoting Mental Wellness in Communities
Promoting Mental Wellness in Communities in Kenya (PMWC-Ke) is a Community Based Organization (CBO) dedicated to fostering mental wellness. Registered with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection Services in Kenya, PMWC-Ke utilizes a preventative approach to drive social change within the communities it serves. Comprising a team of professional and non-professional counsellors, the organization offers services like talks, workshops, training, sports, arts, and social media initiatives.
Targeting vulnerable groups such as children, youth, elderly, and persons with disabilities, PMWC-Ke aims to connect with these communities innovatively. Founded in 2021 by Kaye Alianda Mcilwaine, the organization focuses on finding community-driven solutions to mental wellness issues. Through fundraising activities and grants, PMWC-Ke has raised over kshs 1,200,000 to support mental health initiatives.
