About Poderosas Colombia
Poderosas Colombia is a powerful brand dedicated to providing comprehensive education on sexuality and reproductive rights for adolescents and young people aged 13 to 20 in vulnerable communities in Colombia. They offer a unique program that includes extracurricular circles for women and men, guided by mentors and co-mentors who are trained in a curriculum based on sexual and reproductive rights with a gender perspective. Through their work, Poderosas aims to empower young individuals and strengthen their decision-making abilities.
Founded by Mariana, a passionate advocate for social justice, Poderosas has seen remarkable growth, with over 40 participants and 15 successful events in different communities. Their mission is to create a safe and inclusive space for discussions and learning, aligned with national and international standards, medical expertise, and legal guidance. Poderosas Colombia also actively seeks support through donations and volunteer work to address pressing issues like teenage pregnancy, sexual violence, and menstrual poverty.
