About poetryinternationalweb.org
The Poetry International Foundation, based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, is a prominent literary organization dedicated to promoting quality poetry from both Dutch and international poets. Established in 1970, it fosters a global appreciation of poetry through its annual Poetry International Festival and various other activities that stimulate the translation and exchange of poetic works. The foundation operates a comprehensive website that hosts a vast collection of poems in multiple languages, alongside audio-visual content, articles, and interviews with esteemed poets.
In addition to the festival, Poetry International connects with local initiatives, such as National Poetry Day in the Netherlands and Flanders, educational programs, and poetry awards. Its rich archive, currently being digitized, holds invaluable documents related to poets who have participated since its inception. The foundation's mission to create an international community of poetry enthusiasts underscores its commitment to enriching the literary landscape and ensuring that poetry remains accessible to all.
