Pogranicze Bez Barier is a Polish foundation dedicated to making mountain environments and outdoor recreation more accessible to people with disabilities, particularly people who are blind or have low vision. Founded by Bogumił Kanik, a volunteer mountain rescuer with the Beskid Group of GOPR, the organisation works with local authorities in Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as well as universities and disability-focused non-profits.
The foundation promotes volunteering and the use of modern technologies to support independence, everyday life and participation in sport and mountain tourism. Its activities include guided mountain outings with volunteer guides and specialised harnesses, opportunities to climb indoor walls, and long zip-line descents at Geopark Glinka. An early initiative was the creation of a mountain ski route for blind participants. The foundation also offers training and develops local projects, encouraging cooperation among communities and organisations to open the mountains to more people. In partnership with the French association Vdesemble, it exchanges experience and ideas for activities for blind and partially sighted people from Poland and France.
