About POISE FOUNDATION
POISE Foundation is a Community Foundation with a mission to empower and foster self-sufficiency within the Black community in the Pittsburgh Region. Through strategic leadership, collective giving, grantmaking, and advocacy, POISE Foundation assists in achieving self-sustaining practices. With a history rooted in empowering the Black community, POISE Foundation receives funds from various donors, which are used to support their grantmaking strategy or directed for specific charitable purposes.
POISE Foundation offers a range of products and services aimed at making a positive impact. Their grantmaking programs include the Critical Community Needs Fund (CCNF), the Human Equity and Justice Fund (HEJF), the Greater Hill District Development Growth Fund, and the STOP the Violence Community Investment Grants, among others. They also provide scholarships, including Pre-K, K-12, and post-secondary opportunities.
Additionally, POISE Foundation offers services such as Fiscal Sponsorship, where they provide support to organizations needing nonprofit status.
