Polaris Sellier

Polaris is an artisan leatherworking workshop in Ervy-Le-Châtel, in France’s Aube region, specializing in traditional saddlery and harness-making. Founded in 2020 in northern Burgundy, the workshop moved to Ervy-Le-Châtel in 2024. It creates, adapts and repairs leather goods, drawing on skilled handcraft and quality leather sourced from French and European tanneries.

For horses, Polaris makes and repairs saddles, bridles, harnesses, training equipment, protective items, blankets, girths and halters. The workshop also produces belts, small leather goods and leather accessories for companion animals, and considers custom personal projects in consultation with clients. Items are made individually or in small series. Most are hand-stitched using the traditional saddle stitch, while machine stitching is also available to suit different budgets. Other production stages, including pattern-making, cutting, shaping and dyeing, are carried out by hand.

Polaris also offers introductory workshops in saddle-stitch sewing. The atelier is not open on a fixed schedule, so visitors are encouraged to arrange an appointment to collect purchases, bring in repairs or discuss a project.
