Polenta7000 is a volunteer-powered summer bar and cultural gathering in Walserbüel, on the edge of Chur, Switzerland. Running from May to August, it transforms an outdoor site into a welcoming place to enjoy music, food, drinks, and time together. The weekend programme features DJs and live acts, alongside activities such as ping-pong tournaments and themed events. Opening depends on good weather, with hours listed as Thursday and Friday from 5 to 11 p.m. and Saturday from 3 to 11 p.m.
The bar, known as the Büvetta, serves beer, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and coffee. Visitors can also pick up sausages and bread for spontaneous grilling, while a food container offers a range of meals and snacks. Polenta7000 is sustained by drink sales, volunteer work, donations, and sponsorship, with a pay-what-you-can entrance contribution supporting the day’s artists. More than 180 volunteers help run the project, which welcomes new members and supporters.
