Korps Politie Suriname (KPS) is Suriname’s police force, operating under the Ministry of Justice and Police. Its responsibilities include maintaining public order, peace and safety, investigating criminal offences, and overseeing compliance with legal requirements. The organization presents its website as a way to bring the police closer to the public and give greater substance to its public-service role.

The site shares information about police activities and current events, including police reports, official announcements, crime-prevention tips, and notices about missing or wanted people. It also provides practical public information on police ranks, services, number plates and firearm permits, alongside contact details and the emergency number 115. Residents can find updates on investigations, safety measures, and other developments, while media representatives can register to receive press releases.

KPS is headquartered on Duisburglaan in Paramaribo. Through its public information and service resources, the organization aims to keep citizens informed and support communication between the police and the communities it serves.
