Полка

Полка is an educational project dedicated to exploring the most significant works of Russian literature. It focuses on 108 essential books that have shaped history, influenced language, thought, and society, leaving an indelible mark on the literary canon. The curated list of books, which includes novels, stories, and plays, was determined through a voting process involving esteemed writers, literary critics, and educators. The top-ranked work is Mikhail Lermontov's A Hero of Our Time.

In addition to detailed descriptions of these literary masterpieces, Полка offers various resources, including articles, podcasts, and multimedia materials, enhancing the understanding of these texts. The platform encourages readers to engage with the literary canon, with features that allow them to read books directly in their browsers via Bookmate. Полка is not only a guide through Russian literature but also a community where readers can ask questions, share insights, and discover themed reading lists, bridging the past with contemporary exploration of literature.
