Their story began with Marc Ducasse, who enlisted local artisans to manufacture plush toys to meet growing demand. However, as demand continued to increase, this decentralized system became unsustainable. In response, Polly Esther Ltd was established in 2017 to centralize operations and create a space for their skilled artisans, aptly nicknamed "magicians," to work their craft.

Located in an old house in Union Park, transformed into a small factory, Polly Esther provides a comfortable and inspiring environment for the artisans. Official production began in May 2018, marking a significant milestone for the brand.

Polly Esther has received recognition for their commitment to local manufacturing. They were chosen by the SME Mauritius to launch the "Hologram" program, certifying that their plush toys are made locally. Additionally, they proudly wear the "Made in Moris" label, promoting locally made products and strengthening local brands internationally.

Currently, Polly Esther's stuffed animals are exclusively made for Accessorize Ltd, who handles distribution. Within Mauritius, their products can be found at Plaisance Shopping Village (PSV), Magic Lantern in Rose-Hill, Mauritius Duty Free Paradise, and various hotels. Moving forward, their goal is to expand their distribution globally.

At Polly Esther, their dedicated team includes Manisha and Priya as supervisors, along with skilled machinists and helpful assistants.
