Poney Club et Élevage de La Gardiole is a family-oriented riding club and pony-breeding centre in La Bâtie-Vieille, around six kilometres from Gap, France. Set within a 35-hectare estate, it welcomes children and adults throughout the year, from beginners to experienced riders. Instruction is tailored to each rider’s level and interests, with activities ranging from leisure riding to competition.
The club’s ponies include Shetlands, Welsh ponies and French Saddle Ponies (PFS), and their welfare is a stated priority: they live in pasture for six months of the year and in paddocks with shelters during the rest of the year. The centre also offers horse boarding and presents young ponies bred on site for sale. Housed in former farm buildings, the club has a welcoming, rural setting where visitors may also encounter chickens, cats, goats and Tino the donkey.
With its riding instruction, equine care and breeding activities, La Gardiole brings together learning, leisure and a close connection with ponies
