PonoLipo

PonoLipo is a children’s learning and family support organization centered on PonoLipo Club Workshop & Library in Jiyugaoka. The former PonoLipo Shop, once a select shop for English-language picture books and imported toys, closed at the end of 2023. The organization no longer sells books or toys; its current focus is educational activities and workshops, with a library lending service.

PonoLipo Club offers programs for children from infancy through around age ten, including babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary-age children. Its activities are designed to encourage curiosity, creativity, and engagement through experiences children can become absorbed in. The club also provides customized workshops and has expanded its English extensive-reading sessions beyond Saturdays to include weekdays.

PonoLipo’s website complements these services with articles for parents, including age-based picture-book recommendations, play ideas, and practical childcare tips. It also shares news about children’s creative writing and the PonoLipo Children’s Story Award. Together, the club’s learning programs, lending library, and family-focused resources support children’s development and help parents find ideas for learning and play.
