The Pony Racing Authority (PRA) promotes pony racing as an accessible pathway into the wider racing sport and a way to develop young riders. It introduces children to riding techniques, race-day procedures and the excitement of competition, helping them discover an interest in race-riding, including under the Rules of Racing or on the Point-to-Point circuit. The PRA supports riders from their first introduction through training, qualification and official races, encouraging them to progress at their own pace.

Its offerings include Taster Days for children aged 7 to 15, generally designed for participants without ponies, as well as PRA and Pony Club training and qualification days. Riders can also take part in the Point-to-Point Series and Racecourse Series, and access opportunities through PRA Academies. The organisation provides fixture listings, results, rider rankings, rules and regulations, and safeguarding information. It also offers development pathways for riders and coaches, including coach training. Through these activities, the PRA seeks to attract new participants and help nurture the next generation of racing talent.
