Pool of Life is a registered charity based at Queen’s Dock in Liverpool and part of the Amathus Dragon Boat & Canoe Club. Established as the UK’s first dragon boat team for breast cancer survivors, it brings people together through paddling, mutual support and shared experiences. The team describes itself as a floating support group, where members work as one and encourage each other to thrive in sport and in life.
People are welcome to join whether they have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, are undergoing treatment, living with secondary breast cancer or have completed treatment. Supportive friends and family are also invited. Pool of Life aims to accompany people throughout their individual journeys, offering a welcoming community alongside its sporting activities.
The charity provides opportunities to train and take part in events, festivals and paddles, with activities ranging from local gatherings to international dragon boat festivals. Its website shares training and event information, team news, a gallery, membership guidance and ways to donate.
