About Poor Magazine
POOR Magazine is a revolutionary grassroots non-profit arts organization that is led by and dedicated to marginalized communities, including poor and indigenous people. Their mission is to provide media access, art, education, and advocacy to silenced youth, adults, and elders living in poverty across the globe. POOR Magazine offers a wide range of programs and services that focus on non-colonizing, community-based, and community-led media, art, and education.
Their goal is to create access for silenced voices, preserve and degentrify rooted communities of color, and reframe the debate on poverty, landlessness, indigenous resistance, disability, and race at both local and global levels. Some of POOR Magazine's programs include the POOR News Network (PNN), which broadcasts local and global news of struggles with poverty, racism, disability, and more; the Poor Press Book Class, where poverty skolaz learn to write, publish, and sell books; and the Homefulness Project, a homeless, landless, self-determined movement/solution to homelessness. Through their activities, POOR Magazine aims to empower individuals, challenge systemic inequalities, and foster social change.
With a strong emphasis on community collaboration and solidarity, they are creating a platform for marginalized voices to be heard and valued
