Špecializovaná poradňa pre deti a žiakov s NKS Šurany

Súkromné špecializované centrum poradenstva a prevencie in Šurany, Slovakia, supports children and pupils with disabilities involving impaired communication abilities. Following the transformation of the Slovak counselling system in January 2023, the centre became a specialist service with the highest, fourth-level support designation and a focus on communication disorders. Its multidisciplinary team includes a speech-language therapist, special educators and a psychologist.

The centre provides individual counselling, prevention, comprehensive assessment, specialised diagnostic services, therapy and rehabilitation. It also offers support for children under five with at-risk development, and guidance on compensatory, remedial and special educational materials. Services are available on an outpatient or outreach basis, once or repeatedly, at the centre, in schools, social-service facilities, children and family centres, or in the child’s home. The team provides speech-language, special-education and psychological care, as well as stimulation programmes, play therapy and filial therapy. Programmes include phonemic-awareness training based on D. B. Elkonin’s approach and the Úspešný školáčik school-readiness programme.
