Por el Mar (For the Ocean) is a non-profit marine conservation organization dedicated to protecting and restoring the ocean. With a team of scientists, activists, communicators, and policy experts, we work tirelessly for the ocean and all its inhabitants. Our vision is to establish a deep ecological awareness between people and the sea, fostering a common future where all forms of life can thrive.

To achieve this, we create and implement effective conservation strategies that safeguard and revitalize the ocean and our connection to it. One of our impactful projects is the Seaforests at the end of The World, focused on the exploration, protection, and restoration of the pristine kelp forest ecosystem along the Argentine Patagonian Sea coastline. Additionally, we are promoting the creation of the Península Mitre Coastal Marine Provincial Park, a vast territory in Tierra del Fuego province that is home to crucial carbon sinks and endangered species.

Inspired by the abolition of open-net salmon farms in Argentina, we have formed a global coalition aiming to eliminate open-net salmon farms worldwide. Through collaboration, local activism, and policy change, we strive for oceans that are free from these harmful practices. Join us in our mission to explore, protect, and restore the ocean.
