Porin Shotokan

Porin Shotokan Karate Do ry is a karate club founded in 1975 and a Finnish Olympic Committee Star Club. As an official Japan Karate Association dojo, it offers Shotokan karate training led by qualified coaches for participants of different ages and experience levels. The club welcomes children, teenagers and adults, with groups ranging from young beginners to experienced practitioners; its members include people from age five to over sixty. Training supports personal development, fitness and skill-building, while the club also provides opportunities to compete.

Courses include family karate for children aged two to five, practised together with a familiar adult, Karate Kids for ages five to seven, children’s classes for ages eight to thirteen, and groups for young people and adults aged fourteen and over. The family sessions use playful activities to develop balance, coordination and general movement skills. The club operates its own training hall on Satakunnankatu in Pori and also runs courses in Rauma, with sessions held at the Karin Campus budo facility.
