Poronpolku

Poronpolku is a Finnish outdoor recreation brand and annual community event organized by Poronpolku ry. Held around Räyskälä, it promotes recreational exercise, physical wellbeing and enjoyment of nature. The Poronpolku walking event takes participants along forested ridges, past lakes and ponds, and across wetland boardwalks, with routes ranging from 3 to 27 kilometres. Longer routes include a seasonal crossing of the Marskin Maja strait by hand-pulled ferry or rowing boat. On event day, local associations operate refreshment stops selling food and drinks, with toilets nearby. Participants can also use the sauna at the Räyskälä Aviation Centre and swim in nearby Lake Vääriä.

Poronpolun Polkaisu is a non-competitive touring cycling event, offering routes that can be combined to create a ride of up to 55 kilometres. Advance registration is required, and places are limited. The Poronpolku trail network is also freely accessible outside the event weekend, offering visitors a nearby option for shorter or longer nature outings.
