Portage Lake Club

Portage Lake Sportsmen’s Club (PLSC) is a membership-based sportsmen’s organization in Chassell, Michigan, serving people interested in shooting sports, outdoor skills, and community activities. Located on Chassell-Painesdale Road, the club offers members access to shooting ranges, a clubhouse, and a membership clay thrower, with facilities and schedules subject to club activities and conditions.

PLSC supports several shooting disciplines. Its regular programs include summer shotgun five-stand sessions and practical pistol practice through the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA). Rifle facilities include a covered range with steel and polymer swinging targets intended exclusively for rimfire ammunition. The club also organizes hunter education courses and posts event details, range closures, and other updates on its website.

Membership is available through the club’s join or renew process, with current procedures and rules provided online. Members can also consult the site for facility information, a calendar, contacts, photographs, and club announcements. PLSC is affiliated with the National Rifle Association and the Upper Peninsula Sportsmen’s Alliance, and maintains connections with Friends of NRA and IDPA.
