Maternity Professionals is a leading organization advocating for the safety and well-being of expectant mothers, particularly regarding home births. They emphasize the necessity of clear communication about the risks associated with home deliveries and stress that only qualified birth attendants should assist in these situations. With the rise of complex pregnancies, many women seek the comfort of home births, often due to previous traumatic experiences in medical facilities.

However, availability and quality of home birth options vary significantly by region, highlighting gaps in maternity services. The organization actively addresses incidents where inadequate care has resulted in tragic outcomes, underscoring the need for properly trained midwives and informed decision-making. They recommend that home births be considered only for uncomplicated pregnancies and advocate for open, transparent dialogue between healthcare providers and women.

Maternity Professionals is committed to improving outcomes through education, support, and the promotion of skilled care to ensure safe childbirth experiences for mothers and their babies
