Port City Dog Training provides personalized, in-home dog training for families in Muskegon, Michigan, and nearby communities, including Whitehall, Grand Haven, North Muskegon, Fruitport, Spring Lake, and Norton Shores. Owner and trainer Steve Dube works directly with clients, using positive reinforcement and Fear Free principles to support humane, practical learning tailored to each dog and household. He is CPDT-KA certified, Fear Free certified, and an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, with experience helping dogs navigate fear, reactivity, and overstimulation.
Training options include puppy coaching for routines, socialization, confidence, and early skills; basic obedience for leash manners, recall, and impulse control; reactive dog training to address barking, lunging, and fear around triggers; and advanced training to build real-world skills and prepare for the Canine Good Citizen test. Virtual sessions are also available, alongside guidance between lessons. Programs focus on challenges such as leash pulling, jumping, and everyday behavior at home or in the neighborhood. Port City Dog Training offers a free consultation to help owners choose a suitable starting point.
