About PortEconomics
PortEconomics is a web-based initiative that focuses on generating knowledge about seaports. It is developed and powered by the members of the PortEconomics group, who are actively involved in academic and contract research in port economics, management, and policy. The initiative offers specialized courses on port economics, management, planning, and policy to students and other audiences in Europe and beyond.
The participating scholars collaborate with an extensive international network of academics interested in seaport studies and research across five continents. These collaborations are facilitated through associate membership and active participation in international scientific associations like the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME) and the Port Performance Research Network (PPRN). With a commitment to knowledge exchange, PortEconomics provides freely accessible research, education, information, and network-building materials on critical issues related to port economics, management, and policies
