Portslade Hedgehoppers is a vibrant and inviting running club established in 1982, dedicated to fostering a community for runners of various skill levels, though it does not cater specifically for absolute beginners. As a proud member of the West Sussex Fun Run League, Sussex Cross Country League, and England Athletics, the club offers a range of engaging events including local races, parkruns, cross-country, and longer-distance challenges such as half and full marathons.
Members gather twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays for training sessions. The Tuesday runs emphasize social interaction, while Thursdays focus on speed work and hill training, held at varying locations around Hove, Portslade, and Shoreham. Portslade Hedgehoppers not only encourages members to improve their fitness but also promotes social connections and the joy of running.
With an annual membership fee of just £10, newcomers are invited to experience a Tuesday session before joining. For anyone seeking a friendly environment to run and enjoy camaraderie, Portslade Hedgehoppers is the perfect choice.
