Portsmouth Poetry is a poetry organisation based in Portsmouth, Hampshire, celebrating the power of words through performance, creative expression, and community participation. It brings poets, audiences, schools, and local communities together through live events, workshops, discussions, educational projects, and collaborations. The organisation supports both established and emerging poets, publishes new writing, shares occasional reviews, and produces a podcast.

Its programmes include performances and community initiatives such as The Power of the Beat, an educational project exploring poetry and hip hop, and work with schools to encourage young writers. Portsmouth Poetry also plays a role in local literary life, including appointing the city’s Poet Laureate and supporting the Young Poet Laureate programme. In connection with Portsmouth’s centenary as a city, it published One Hundred Poems for Portsmouth, featuring poems by local schoolchildren.

The organisation shares poems, articles, event news, and media through its website, and hosts performances featuring visiting and local poets. Its activities are designed to make poetry accessible, foster creative expression, and connect people across generations and backgrounds.
