Poseidon Training

Poseidon Training was built from inside the energy industry by two oil and gas veterans who had spent decades seeing the same gap: emergency-management training needed to be more realistic, more measurable and more relevant to how people actually perform under pressure.

Founded by Michael Sherriffs and Paul Angus, who bring close to fifty years of combined industry experience, Poseidon grew from evenings and weekends spent shaping an idea into an OPITO-approved training centre at Ocean Marina, Chonburi, Thailand. The setting reflects the brand itself: professional, international and deliberately different.

Poseidon combines recognised standards with modern training technology. Its Emergency Command Centre uses a bespoke simulator, multi-camera observation, point-of-view video and real-time speech-to-text to capture decisions and behaviour during emergency exercises. This allows assessors and appraisers to work from richer evidence than a traditional observation gallery can provide.

Human Performance is also built into the training philosophy. Poseidon considers the effects of stress, fatigue, workload, communication, nutrition and reaction on decision-making, helping delegates understand not only what to do, but how to remain effective when pressure rises.
