Posteo

Posteo is an independent email provider based in Berlin, offering privacy-focused, ad-free digital services since 2009. The company combines secure communication with a strong commitment to sustainability and is financed entirely by its users rather than advertising or investors. Its accounts cost €1 per month and include 4 GB of upgradeable email storage, three alias addresses, webmail, and compatibility with common devices and apps through IMAP and POP3.

Alongside email, Posteo provides synchronisable calendars, an address book, and notes. Calendars support CalDAV, sharing, imports, and exports, while contacts can be synchronised through CardDAV. Users can encrypt stored email, calendars, contacts, and notes, with additional protections including TLS, PGP and S/MIME options, two-factor authentication, and spam and virus filtering. A free migration service helps transfer messages, appointments, and contacts from other providers over an encrypted connection.

Posteo does not track users or collect personal data during registration. Its services run on 100% green electricity, and the company supports resource-conscious operations and regular donations to nongovernmental organisations.
