Le Poulpe–Vitrolles is a volunteer-run scuba diving club based in Vitrolles and Carry-le-Rouet. Founded in 1980, the association is affiliated with the French Federation for Underwater Sports and Education (FFESSM) and welcomes people interested in discovering or developing their diving skills in a friendly, relaxed setting.
The club offers training for Levels 1, 2 and 3, as well as Nitrox, Advanced Nitrox and RIFAP courses covering responses to and interventions in diving accidents. Beginners can also try scuba diving through introductory sessions, with no prior experience required.
Pool training and introductory dives take place on Tuesdays, outside school holidays, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Liourat swimming pool in Vitrolles. For sea diving, members can join weekend trips aboard the club’s POULPE IV, departing from Carry-le-Rouet to explore sites along the Côte Bleue, in the Marseille harbour and around the Marseille islands. The club also provides members with access to dive planning and reservations, alongside information about marine weather and local diving sites.
