Pound Animals Worth Saving

P.A.W.S. Fur The Cause (Pound Animals Worth Saving) is an Arizona-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue dedicated to helping dogs find safe, loving homes. For more than two decades, the organization has rescued dogs from government shelters, the streets, and owner surrenders, with a mission focused on their health and well-being.

The rescue operates entirely through foster homes, where dogs live with caregivers rather than in shelters or boarding facilities while awaiting adoption. PAWS supports prospective adopters with thoughtful matching and opportunities to meet dogs at adoption events held around the Phoenix area. Its website also features available dogs and stories about rescued animals and their journeys to new homes.

Community members can contribute by fostering, volunteering, attending events, or donating. The organization says donations go directly toward food and medical expenses for the dogs and that it pays no salaries. PAWS also shares pet resources, forms, and information about trusted veterinarians, community partners, spay and neuter services, and stray animal pickup.
