Power's Funeral Directors

Power’s Funeral Directors is a family-run funeral home based in Ferrybank, Waterford, serving families across Waterford and Kilkenny. Established in Ferrybank in 1886, with roots extending to the 1840s, the business has continued through generations and is now led by Martin and Claire Power. Its focus is on providing professional, compassionate support and helping families plan meaningful, dignified services.

The company offers comprehensive funeral arrangements, including preparation of the deceased, grave opening, coordination of church services, notices, music, flowers, transport, and related administration. Families can choose cremation, including direct cremation, and access urns, keepsakes, memorial jewellery, coffins, and caskets. Power’s also arranges headstones and other monumental works, and provides advanced and pre-paid funeral planning to help people record their wishes and ease future demands on loved ones.

For families affected by a death abroad, the firm manages incoming and outgoing repatriation and associated legal and logistical requirements. It also shares recent death notices and offers bereavement guidance, including information on death certificates, grants, and benefits. The team is available 24/7.
