About Public Private Partnership Commission
The Public Private Partnership Commission (PPPC) is the premier partner of choice for delivering world-class infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for all in Malawi. As the implementation agency for PPPs in the country, the commission facilitates access to affordable and efficient public services through transparent procurement of innovative and dynamic private sector partners. With a rich history dating back to 1996, when it was established as the Privatisation Commission, the PPP Commission has successfully divested or liquidated state-owned enterprises and contributed to the growth of the stock exchange.
Recognizing the importance and success of public-private partnerships internationally, Malawi embraced the concept in 2005, leading to the passing of the PPP policy in 2011 and the PPP Act in 2012. The PPPC works closely with the Ministry of Finance, providing expert guidance and support to sector ministries in developing guidelines for PPP projects. Their services include project identification, feasibility studies, procurement process supervision, negotiation support, contract management, and capacity building.
PPPs offer various benefits such as accelerated infrastructure provision, reduced cost, better incentives for performance, and additional revenues generated through private sector expertise. Choose the PPP Commission for efficient and sustainable infrastructure development
