PRACOWNIA TEMPER

Pracownia Temper is an art and conservation studio in Kraków, run by artist, painter and conservator Ewa Kociuba. Established in 2012, the studio draws on more than twenty years of painting and conservation experience to create commissioned paintings and icons, as well as care for existing works of art. Its services include hand-painted copies of artworks, custom-written icons and conservation treatments.

Each commission is approached with close attention to the original work’s support, materials, construction, paint layers, brushwork and condition. Paintings are made by hand, from preparing a wooden panel or canvas to applying the final varnish, using techniques associated with the Old Masters. The studio offers copies of world paintings and religious images, including depictions of the Virgin Mary and the Holy Trinity.

Ewa Kociuba also studies historical materials and methods, develops ageing techniques, and continues to expand her specialist conservation workshop. Through its blog and YouTube channel, Pracownia Temper shares insights into painting techniques, icon-making and the process behind its work
