Praktijk Equine provides complementary, welfare-focused treatments and support for horses, including sport horses. Based in Balkbrug, the practice takes a holistic view of each horse, considering movement, posture, muscle tension, freedom of movement and mental tension. Its aim is to support comfort, relaxation and balance through calm, horse-friendly care.
Services include welfare treatments using gentle manual bodywork techniques, intended to help ease tension and support supple movement. The practice also offers hirudotherapy, using leeches as a complementary approach to horse welfare. For owners seeking support in the saddle, Praktijk Equine provides riding instruction and guidance, drawing on Jeanette Stroeve’s experience as a show jumper and instructor. This work can help explore how training, balance or asymmetry may relate to challenges observed while riding.
Praktijk Equine’s treatments are complementary and are not veterinary care. The practice does not diagnose conditions or perform veterinary procedures. If a horse may be in pain, injured or unwell, owners are advised to consult a veterinarian first.
