Prama

Prama is a Dorset charity founded in 1982 to help older adults and carers live more independent, fulfilling lives. Working across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, East Dorset and as far north as Blandford Forum, it provides community-based support designed to reduce isolation, improve wellbeing and help people remain in their own homes and communities. Its services include community groups, special-interest activities, telephone befriending, dementia support and one-to-one assistance for carers and older adults experiencing loneliness. Prama also supports people living with memory loss and long-term health conditions, and offers opportunities to volunteer or work with the organisation.

The charity runs shops across Dorset, selling affordable, quality pre-loved goods and welcoming donated items. Customers can also find branded products through the Prama shop, with online shopping and seasonal services such as Christmas tree collection announced as part of its offering. Donations, volunteering and fundraising events help sustain Prama’s work. Supported by local staff and volunteers, the Christian charity serves people of all faiths and none with compassion and respect.
