About PRAWA
PRAWA is a non-governmental organization with a mission to promote institutional reforms that provide access to justice, rehabilitation, and social development for prisoners, ex-prisoners, torture victims, and at-risk youth. Led by Dr. Uju Agomoh, PRAWA believes in an effective, just, humane, and accessible justice system that supports and rehabilitates offenders, victims, and the community.
With a focus on human rights, PRAWA offers various programs and projects to address the needs of its target groups. Current projects include the Illegal Migration Awareness Project (IMAP), Human Rights Training Integration (HRTI), and the OAK PROJECT–STOP TORTURE. These initiatives aim to raise awareness, provide training, and implement measures to stop violence and torture in Africa's detention centers.
PRAWA's extensive activities in prison and penal reforms have led to innovative programs such as Victim-Offender Mediation and Reconciliation Services, Basic Information Scheme, Family Group Conferencing, and Community Video Infographics. By supporting PRAWA through donations and volunteering, you can be part of the effort to reform African prisons and promote rehabilitation, justice, and social development
