PraxSci

Praxis Science (PraxSci) develops technology and community initiatives to connect traditional science with decentralized, technology-enabled research. Its approach puts scientists first, using community feedback as an ongoing form of peer review and drawing on established scientific governance while adapting it for new tools and ways of working.

The organization’s Terminus platform offers researchers a virtual community and workspace, particularly those facing relocation, institutional changes, or other disruptions to their work. Praxis Science also supports decentralized publications, helping scientists from multiple organizations—and unaffiliated researchers—collaborate on rigorous, comprehensive research without simply increasing publication volume. Its planned CoAuth tool is intended to facilitate this work.

Praxis Science is developing evidence-based technology and programmable governance for research. One prototype uses blockchain, cryptography, credentialing, and human review to support the validation and verification of data and authorship. The team also proposes Scientia machina, a framework for evaluating how technology can be introduced into biomedical science. Praxis Science’s roadmap includes further community and research tools, including Conscientiâ and Science Associates.
