About Predator Free Dunedin
Predator Free Dunedin is a dynamic and collaborative conservation brand comprised of over 20 organizations working together to safeguard native biodiversity and empower local communities. With a long-term vision to eliminate possums, rats, and stoats from urban and rural areas of Dunedin by 2050, our dedicated members are actively involved in various predator control initiatives. We focus on strengthening existing projects and fostering connections between different areas, ensuring a united front against predators.
Supported by Trap. NZ and iNaturalist. NZ, our impact is amplified and measured through reliable sources.
The delivery of Predator Free Dunedin is spearheaded by three partners, who lead on-the-ground efforts in three key regions: the Otago Peninsula, the City, and West Harbour and Mount Cargill. The governance of our project is overseen by the Predator Free Dunedin Trust, comprising elected trustees from member organizations who ensure the effective and efficient realization of project goals and milestones.
