PRESERVE is a European research and innovation project focused on protecting public spaces from current and emerging drone threats. Running from October 2024 to September 2027, it brings together 18 EU partners and affiliated entities from industry, research, academia and public institutions. Funded through the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme, the project is developing a trustworthy, transparent and easy-to-use hybrid counter-UAS command-and-control platform to help police authorities prevent, detect and manage drone-related incidents.
PRESERVE combines information from physical sensors and online sources to support threat assessment and operational responses, including challenges posed by weaponised consumer drone swarms. Its four planned products are a swarm-based counter-UAS arsenal, an online drone intelligence engine, the integrated PRESERVE platform, and a C-UAV training programme. The platform and products will be validated through pilot use cases in near-real environments and can be adopted as a complete system or through selected services. The project also offers certified theoretical and practical training, exercises and stakeholder engagement, with attention to privacy, ethics and trustworthy AI.
