About Pressbooks
Pressbooks is a digital publishing platform that helps authors, educators, and other creators develop and share books online. Its self-publishing tools let users start a book from scratch and turn ideas into digital publications, with features for telling stories, sharing knowledge, improving accessibility, and incorporating multimedia. The platform also supports the adaptation of open educational resources.
Educators can find openly licensed content in the Pressbooks Directory, clone a work, and revise it in Pressbooks Create for use in their classrooms. This makes Pressbooks useful both for original publishing projects and for remixing existing open textbooks. Users can create an account to begin working, while help resources include the Pressbooks User Guide and Premium Support.
The site also provides information about its terms of service, privacy policy, and content guidelines and moderation policy. Pressbooks maintains a directory of published resources and offers contact and community channels, including YouTube and LinkedIn. Overall, it provides digital publishing and OER adaptation tools for creators and educators
