Mathieu Romain is a professional fishing guide and instructor based in Alsace, France. A state-certified graduate of the Maison Nationale de l’Eau et de la Pêche d’Ornans, he has worked in professional fishing since 2010 and brings experience in aquatic environments and fisheries management. He specialises in fly fishing and artificial-lure fishing, offering tailored guided trips, introductory sessions and skills training for different levels and goals.

Services include boat-based fishing for pike, catfish, zander, asp and perch on the Rhine and Lake Plobsheim, as well as fly-fishing guidance for trout and grayling on rivers in Alsace and the Vosges. Young anglers can join dedicated fishing courses, and multi-day packages combine guided fishing with independent time on the water. The business also offers rental of an equipped fishing boat at Lake Plobsheim and guided predator-fishing trips in the Netherlands. Boat outings use a fully equipped fishing vessel, with high-end tackle provided. Mathieu shares local knowledge and adapts each outing to participants’ interests, experience and objectives.
